Aircon Repair in Davao City

We repair split-type and window-type aircon across Davao City — no-cooling issues, water leaks, electrical faults, noisy units and refrigerant problems. Diagnosis costs ₱300–₱500 and is waived when you proceed with the repair; you approve a written quote before any part is replaced.

An aircon that dies in Davao is an emergency in a way people from colder places never quite understand. The usual local experience: you message three technicians from Facebook, one replies, he "checks" the unit for two minutes, declares "kulang sa freon", charges for a top-up — and two weeks later the unit is warm again because the real problem was never found. We work differently: diagnose first, explain in plain language, quote in writing, then repair.

Common aircon problems and what they usually mean

What our technicians find behind the most frequent complaints in Davao:

SymptomMost common causesTypical repair cost (Davao, 2026)
Running but not coolingDirty coils; low refrigerant from a leak; weak capacitor₱800 – ₱3,500
Water dripping insideClogged drain line; broken drain pan; improper tilt₱500 – ₱1,500
Trips the breakerGrounded compressor; shorted wiring; overloaded circuit₱1,000 – ₱4,000+
Clicking / humming, won’t startFailed capacitor; contactor or PCB fault₱800 – ₱3,000
Loud rattle or grindingFan motor bearings; loose blower; debris in outdoor unit₱800 – ₱2,500
On and off every few minutesDirty condenser overheating; thermistor or PCB issue₱600 – ₱3,000

Ranges include labor and common parts at Davao prices. Compressor replacement (₱8,000–₱18,000 depending on HP) is quoted separately — and we tell you honestly when replacing the whole unit makes more sense.

Why "kulang sa freon" is usually not the real diagnosis

Refrigerant does not get "used up" like gasoline — a sealed system keeps its charge for years. If your unit is genuinely low on refrigerant, it has a leak, and topping it up without finding the leak means paying for the same top-up again every few months while the leak corrodes further. When our technician finds low pressure, the job is to locate the leak (usually at flare connections or the evaporator), fix it, vacuum the system and then recharge — R32 or R410A at current Davao rates, quoted before work.

This is also why we publish a diagnosis fee instead of guessing for free: a real diagnosis with gauges and an electrical check takes time, and it is what saves you from paying for the wrong fix twice.

How a repair visit works

  1. 1

    Describe the symptom

Use the form below — what the unit does, brand and type, your area. A short video of the problem helps a lot.

  2. 2

    Diagnosis visit

₱300–₱500 depending on area, scheduled within 24–48 hours (same-day when reported in the morning). The technician tests pressures, electricals and airflow, and explains the fault in plain language.

  3. 3

    Written quote, then repair

You approve the quote before any part is opened or replaced. Diagnosis fee is deducted from the repair. Parts carry a workmanship warranty.

Repair or replace?

Our honest rule of thumb for Davao conditions: if the unit is over 8–10 years old and the repair (say, a compressor) costs more than a third of a new inverter unit, replacement usually wins — a modern inverter split can cut cooling cost by 30–50% on a Davao Light bill, which pays back faster here than almost anywhere. If the unit is under 5 years old, nearly everything short of a dead compressor is worth repairing. We quote both paths when it is a close call; if you replace, our installation team can supply and mount the new unit.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the checkup / diagnosis fee?

₱300–₱500 depending on your area in Davao City, and it is waived — deducted in full — when you proceed with the repair through us. Samal and out-of-town visits carry a transport fee quoted upfront.

Can you repair inverter aircon?

Yes. Inverter units (Daikin, Panasonic, Carrier, Midea, Kolin, LG, Samsung and others) have more electronics — PCB faults are common after brownouts — and our technicians are used to them. After a Davao Light interruption, check your breaker first; if the unit still will not start, book a diagnosis.

My aircon leaks water inside the room. Is that a repair or a cleaning?

Usually a clogged drain line — technically solved by a proper general cleaning with a drain flush. If the drain pan is cracked or the unit was installed without the right tilt, that is a small repair. Either way it is one of the cheapest problems to fix; see our guide on aircon leaking water.

Do you buy the parts or do I?

We do. Parts are sourced same-day from Davao suppliers when in stock (capacitors, motors, common PCBs), and the part cost is listed separately on your quote so you see exactly what you are paying for.

Is there a warranty on repairs?

Yes — workmanship is covered, and parts carry their supplier warranty. If the same fault returns within the warranty period, we come back at no charge.
