Aircon Repair Cost in Davao City (2026 Guide, per Problem)

Aircon repair in Davao City in 2026 runs from ₱300–₱500 for a diagnosis (usually waived when you proceed) through ₱800–₱1,500 for a capacitor, ₱2,500–₱5,000 for a fan motor, ₱3,000–₱8,000 for a control board, and ₱8,000–₱18,000 for a compressor on a 1–1.5 HP split-type. The cheapest repairs fix the majority of “not cooling” complaints; the most expensive are often not worth doing on a unit past eight years.

Brand-original parts (Daikin, Panasonic, Carrier, LG) cost more than compatible parts and are sometimes the only option on inverter units. A written quote should name the part, whether it is original or compatible, and its warranty.

What decides where in the range you land

  • Inverter or not. Inverter units are cheaper to run and more expensive to repair: boards and compressors cost more, and parts are brand-specific. A non-inverter unit of the same size is often a third cheaper to fix.

  • Brand and age. Parts for common brands in Davao (Carrier, Condura, Kolin, Midea, Panasonic, LG, Samsung, Daikin) are stocked locally; obscure brands or units over ten years old may need parts ordered from Manila, adding cost and a week.

  • Access. An outdoor unit on a bracket over a condo air shaft or a high wall costs more to work on safely than one on a ground-floor slab.

  • What else is wrong. A capacitor fails, the compressor overheats for months, then the compressor fails. Fixing the small thing early is the whole cost argument for maintenance.

When repair stops making sense

The rule we use with customers: if the repair costs more than about 40% of an equivalent new unit, and the unit is more than seven or eight years old, replacement is usually the better decision — especially when the new unit is an inverter that will cut the Davao Light bill every month afterwards. A ₱12,000 compressor on a ₱25,000 ten-year-old unit fails that test; a ₱1,200 capacitor on the same unit passes it easily. Coil replacements and inverter boards on older units are the most common “technically possible, financially wrong” repairs we talk people out of.

The reverse mistake also happens: replacing a three-year-old unit because a technician declared the compressor dead when it was a ₱900 capacitor. A second opinion with gauges and a multimeter is cheap. Our repair service always quotes the repair and the replacement side by side when the numbers are close.

How repair bills get padded — and how to read a quote

Patterns customers report to us after a bad experience elsewhere:

  • Freon on every visit. Refrigerant is not a consumable. A recharge without a leak test is the most common unnecessary line item in Davao — see our freon recharge page.

  • The compressor diagnosis by ear. A humming outdoor unit is a capacitor far more often than a compressor. Ask whether the capacitor was tested before the big quote.

  • “Cleaning” added to every repair. Sometimes justified — a filthy coil causes the fault. But it should be itemised and priced, not folded into a round number.

  • No part name, no warranty. A quote that says “repair ₱6,500” tells you nothing. Ask for the part, original or compatible, and the warranty in writing.

Frequently asked questions

Magkano ang repair ng aircon na hindi lumalamig?

It depends on the cause, and the cheap causes are the common ones: a dirty coil (₱1,500–₱2,500 for a general cleaning) or a capacitor (₱800–₱1,500) fix most cases. A refrigerant leak runs ₱2,000–₱4,500; a compressor ₱8,000–₱18,000 and often not worth it on an old unit.

Is the diagnosis fee really waived?

When you proceed with the quoted repair, yes. If you decide not to repair — for example because we recommend replacement — the ₱300–₱500 covers the visit and you get a written finding you can use for a second opinion or a replacement decision.

How long do repairs take?

Capacitors, thermostats, drain and leak repairs are usually done in the first visit within one to two hours. Motors, boards and compressors depend on parts: same or next day for common brands stocked in Davao, up to a week if a part has to come from Manila.

Do repairs come with a warranty?

Parts carry the supplier’s warranty (typically 3–12 months depending on the part) and the workmanship is covered — if the same fault returns within the warranty period, the revisit is on us. The warranty terms are on the receipt.
